Fred Olson and Ernie Graetz Step Down
Fred Olson, our South Pinellas County Chapter Board President, is moving to a new home south of the Skyway bridge. Fred has served the South Pinellas County Chapter for the past several years and under his leadership we have accomplished many things, Our involvement with Thrivent Builds provided 3 families with new affordable housing and as our Chapter Board President, Fred provided leadership in our community for many worthwhile projects. Fred and De will be missed and we wish them a great new start. Glen Zobel has volunteered to run for the role of president in 2010. Ernie Graetz is taking a break from his volunteer position as Congregational Service Team Director for a year. I know Ernie will continue to be involved with our Thrivent community through Hope Lutheran Church. Ernie we will miss you. Know you are always welcome at the board meetings. Amy Monfre, a member of Prince of Peace, who has served as congregational coordinator, will be running for this leadership position.
Seeking Members To Join Our Local Chapter Board
Imagine yourself as part of a group of caring people with the opportunity to decide how best to use funding that benefits people in need and your community. Imagine being able to increase the impact that money has through community involvement, awareness, additional funds raised and the caring work of many hands. And imagine being able to help Thrivent Financial members come together for charitable, educational and social purposes. Chapter leaders with the South Pinellas County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans do just that! And with chapter leader elections just around the corner, the time to get involved is NOW! Come serve and see how the board functions to bring Gods love to our community. You will discover the real joy in serving the community as one of Christ's followers. The only requirements are: being a Thrivent Financial member; a desire to help people; and five to 15 hours per month volunteer time. We very much need you on the chapter leadership board—without a full board, our chapter will not qualify for the funding that helps people and our community. Help us take full advantage of this unique opportunity to significantly impact our community and contact Glen Zobel 727 535-6042 today to find out more or add your name to the election ballot. Serving on the chapter board of Thrivent has allowed me to participate in a meaningful way in my community. Thrivent provides the resources, structure and inspiration to make a difference - Rita Sewell. If serving on the chapter leadership board does not work for you but you'd like to be involved or volunteer in some capacity, there are many other volunteer opportunities, both short-term and longer-term, available as well. Please contact us and we'll describe how you can make a difference through the Thrivent chapter system in a way that fits into your schedule. Please consider congregational involvement if you are not able to join the chapter board. Come to our picnic and learn more about our South Pinellas County Chapter.

Thrivent Has Resources For Job Seekers
If you're looking for a job – or know someone who is – check out the Job Transition Resources from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Practical tools are delivered in eight educational modules you complete online at your convenience. Topics range from cover letters and interview tips, to making use of social media and negotiating benefits when you get a job offer. There are also financial checklists that provide hints based on your circumstance, whether you are anticipating job loss, currently unemployed or recently hired. The resources provide tips for navigating emotionally and spiritually during transition as well. Visit Thrivent.com/jobchange to get started. (There's an easy "email a friend" feature so you can share it with people who may benefit from the job tools.) Thrivent Financial has a long history of helping members in times of crisis. The current high unemployment rate prompted the development of these resources, but they are relevant to anyone who is seeking a job, including new college graduates and people seeking a voluntary career change.
