Manufacturers Coupons (can be expired up to 2 months) - The coupons will be sent to an American military base in Incirlik, Turkey. Families stationed overseas do not have access to these but can use them at their local BX to save money just like we do. For more information, please go to www.ocpnet.org.

Prescription Glasses/Sunglasses, Regular Sunglasses and Glass Cases - The Lions Club will recycle as new glasses for those in need.  If you want more information on this project, please check it out at www.lionsclubs.org.

Coats for Kids - Donate your gently used winter coats and accessories. Kids sizes and adult sizes are welcome.

We hope to fill several bins with these donated items.  Please check with family members and friends and collect as many of these items as you can.  If you bring too much to carry inside, we'll even come to get it from your vehicle!  Not only will your donations help others, it will reduce the clutter in your home!

National Board of Directors Election
You're a member with a voice. Let's hear it.

This year, we are again conducting the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans National Board of Directors election through the mail. If you are a benefit member (generally the insured or annuitant on an insurance or annuity contract issued by Thrivent Financial, or premerger AAL or LB), you are eligible to vote and will receive the mailing. The opportunity to elect your Board of Directors is a benefit of your membership in our fraternal benefit society. Watch your mail in October for election materials.

Get involved in your organization. Make your voice heard.

Nominations for chapter leaders are needed!
After serving the South Brown County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans for 9 years (2 as the Congregational Service Team Director, 2 as President, 2 as a non-voting Advisor and the last 3 again as President), Michelle Burhite will be leaving this great leadership board.  Lois Van Kilsdonk, who has served for the past 4 years as the Congregational Service Team Director/Director of Congregational Advocates, will also be leaving the board after faithfully serving for the past four years (the term limit imposed by Thrivent Financial).

The other three members of the 2011 board will remain on the board for 2012 although their positions may change.   Laurie Otto currently serves as the Vice President, Shannon Otto is currently the Financial Director, and Amanda Humann is serving as the Records Director.  These dedicated members of the team will continue on the board in their current positions or change to another position to accommodate the talents of others wanting to serve on the board in 2012.
