OZAUKEE COUNTY CHAPTER FALL 2004
WHO WANTS TO HELP DETERMINE FUNDING FOR THOSE IN NEED?

WANTED: A person with a caring heart to determine how best to distribute funds to needy people and nonprofit organizations in our community or to help your congregation. Our Ozaukee County Chapter has openings for CHAPTER LEADERS positions on our chapter leadership board for 2005.  For details about the volunteer opportunities with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans and for more specific position responsibilities, contact Ozaukee County Chapter President, Ken Sosnowski, at (262) 242-3350 or kens@baron-snow.com.

CHAPTER LEADER position: Through its Care Abounds in Communities(TM) program, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans provides funding for members who, through volunteer activities, want to aid people and nonprofit organizations needing help in the community. The chapter leadership board is responsible for reviewing funding requests and deciding on the amount of funds to provide for each request. New people are now being sought for chapter leader positions to help continue the fraternal benefit tradition of helping others.

IMPACT:  In 2003, through your Ozaukee County Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, $41,215 was awarded to 47 different projects that helped local schools, families, and service agencies in Ozaukee County and the greater Milwaukee area.  For 2004, the Ozaukee County Chapter has been distributing $52,780 to community service teams in the county.

REQUIREMENTS for volunteer positions: A Thrivent Financial member, a desire to help others, and five to 12 hours per month of volunteer time.

BENEFITS: A smile on the faces of others you've helped and a good feeling in knowing you've made a difference in someone's life.

PLEASE VOTE FOR NEXT YEAR’S CHAPTER LEADERSHIP BOARD

As a membership organization, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is unique to the financial services world in many ways. Our members choose who will represent them on the national board of directors governing the organization as well as choose their local chapter leadership board.  Without this election process, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans would not qualify as a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society and would not be able to provide the benefits to needy individuals, congregations and communities that it does today.

Please exercise your right to vote in your Ozaukee County Chapter's leadership board election. ELECTIONS WILL TAKE PLACE AT OUR COUNTY CHURCHES FROM OCTOBER 17-31 – watch your church bulletin or ask your congregational coordinators for more details. Chapter leader voting must be done in person.

Take a few minutes and cast your vote.  Voting for our board has never been easier!
