| Jefferson County WI Chapter, 3rd Quarter 2006 |
We decided to throw an elections event party, and you responded! A total of 399 persons (387 adults and 12 children) were served a delicious Fish and Chicken Dinner on Friday night, September 29, at Turner Hall, Watertown. While waiting their turn to visit the buffet line, members were treated to delightful music and song by Sandi Webb. After the meal, several of the County Board members spoke and introduced the other Board members as well as Jim White of the Jefferson County Board of Habitat for Humanity. Participants completed their election ballots, with nine candidates on the ballot and Rhonda Vanlou as a write-in candidate for Events Director. Many door prizes were given away.
There was some confusion about this event, as there usually is the first time. An elections event newsletter similar to this newsletter was sent out with all of the details outlined on the front and back pages. A follow-up reminder postcard was sent just prior to the deadline for signing up. Your feedback with regard to this event is appreciated, and please take note to watch carefully next year for news and instructions with regard to RSVP and payment instructions. Thank you!
A very special thank you is sent out with this newsletter as well to financial representatives Lane Albrecht and Jerry Vomhof for underwriting some of the dinner expenses.
By the time you receive this newsletter, your church should have also held an elections event for the County Board members for Thrivent members not able to attend the dinner. Results will be reported in the following newsletter.
You should have received and returned your National Election Ballot. In addition, DON'T FORGET to get out there and vote for governor and other local elections and issues on this fall's election ballot in November.
