Construction is going very well at this year’s Thrivent Builds with Central MN Habitat for Humanity project. This year’s project is a twin home on 11th Ave SE in St. Cloud. The construction started in May and will finish in November. All of the tasks that volunteers can do at the site have been completed with the exception of the final cleaning of the house. To see pictures of the groups that have volunteered at the site and to see the progress of construction, go to www.cmhfh.org. Thank you to all of the individuals and church groups that have donated their time and money to make this project a reality for two families.
Thank you to the following Lutheran churches that have volunteered at the construction site and/or donated towards the project: Salem Lutheran, Atonement Lutheran, Bethlehem Lutheran, Trinity Lutheran, Shepherd of the Pines Lutheran, Living Waters Lutheran, Abounding Joy Lutheran, Resurrection Lutheran, Rejoice Lutheran, Saron Lutheran, Faith Lutheran, and St. James Lutheran Churches.
Thank you to Steve Reetz (a Thrivent Financial Representative), Bob Grenhart (Steve's brother-in-law), and Pastor Kyle and Val Sidlo (from Saron Lutheran Church) for riding in the Habitat 500 this past July. Habitat 500 is a 500 mile bike ride in the state of MN. Steve, Bob, Kyle, and Val all completed the 500 miles and collectively raised approximately $4600 for the Thrivent Builds project on 11th Ave SE in St. Cloud. If you are interested in riding in the Habitat 500 next summer, feel free to check out this website: www.Habitat500.org.
Thank you to the Thrivent Financial Representatives for supporting the Thrivent Builds project by organizing the Thrivent Night at the River Bats Game, providing lunches for volunteers, donating towards the project, working with churches to help them be involved, and volunteering at the construction site: Marcus Anderson, Mike Fossum, Steve Reetz, Erik Hanson, Sharon Litzau, Tom Bernatz, and Tim Ronning.
Donations are still needed for the 11th Ave SE project in St. Cloud. Thrivent Financial for Lutherans has provided a grant to cover 55% of the costs of building the twin home. The Thrivent grant requires that $40,000 of the costs to be donated by Lutherans and/or Thrivent members. Over $20,000 has already been donated by Lutherans, with at least another $10,000 pledged to be given by Lutheran churches. Your donation would be greatly appreciated. There are several ways you can donate: 1) donate to your local Lutheran church, designating your check to Central MN Habitat for Humanity, 2) donation directly to Central MN Habitat for Humanity by donating online at www.cmhfh.org or sending a check to Central MN Habitat for Humanity, 777 Lincoln Ave NE, St. Cloud, MN 56304. Be sure to designate your gift for the Thrivent Builds project and indicate that you are a Thrivent member and/or a Lutheran.
Thank you so much for supporting the Thrivent Builds project with Central MN Habitat for Humanity and for making homeownership a reality for two families.
