The Northern Utah Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is completing its second year since the joining of Aid Association for Lutherans and Lutheran Brotherhood. We have given funds in excess of $20,000 to individuals and organizations in our communities that had need for assistance. The churches in our Northern Utah area have been given from $1,200 to $1,600 per year according to congregational size. The board members are proud of our accomplishments and wish to continue to serve our faith, our church and our communities. Every year we have an election to reestablish the board, to add new menbers to the board and to reelect other members. A Thrivent Financial member may serve on the board up to four years and must then step down for at least two years. We wish to add new board members each year to supplement the board members that desire to step down or have served four years. This will give us continuity and the board will be able to continue with its very important work. There are ten board positions available and we have eight candidates. The five required positions have candidates but we still have openings for a Communications Director and Events Director. Elections will be held on November 7, 2004 at the following locations. The elections are scheduled to begin immediately following your church services until 1pm. Please make it a point to attend your Church and vote immediately afterwards.
