March 2005 MEETING  
Meeting date:  6:30pm 3/10/2005
Location: Risen Savior Lutheran Church – Broomfield, CO
Meeting attendees: Ed Allen, Becky Nichols, Linda Thompson,
Arlene Skaggs, Mark Moore, Kevin Hischke
   
Opening devotion given by Ed Allen about Special Needs, We all have special needs of a Savior.
Meeting was called to order and new chapter members (2/10-3/09) were approved for admittance to our chapter.
Minutes of the February meeting were reviewed and "audit completed" needs to be added. Otherwise minutes approved as submitted.
Financial report was approved as submitted by Linda Thompson.

New Business
  • $1000 Cabbage Burger Sale, Messiah Lutheran School, approved $1000 1-1
  • $1600 Prayer Walk, Urban Service Corp, Tabled until we receive additional information.
  • $1000, American Cancer Society , Relay for Life- Mensing Team, Approved $1000 1-1
  • 2nd Quarter Newsletter, Include Pig Roast information, Additional Fraternal numbers
  • It was approved to offer $50 to each of our congregations for confirmation recognitions. Seed money was also discussed as to whether it will be a gift or a loan. It was decided that if it is for a fund raiser it will be a loan and if it is for a social event it has to be an approved gift, both $200 max.
  • Focus on Join Hands day presented by Kevin Hischke, Kevin presented requests for a youth gathering , community event, Much discussion was held as the pros on cons of this event and how the $1000 Join Hands Grant should be spent. Discussion will continue at our next meeting.
  • 2005 Summit on Mobilizing Volunteers, May 7, Our chapter will offer $150 scholarship to each congregation who wants to attend.

Old Business

  • $2500 Leiker Family Pancake Breakfast held Feb 26, This event was approved via e-mail (this has been completed and money disbursed)
  • $1600 Chili Cook-Off for WELS Schools, Completed (Money Dispursed)
  • $400 9HealthFair, Hands On (April 21-22) $200 prefunding has been sent, Plates, Napkins and cups have been received.
  • $1600, Colorado Lutheran HS, Silent Auction, (March 6) Total Raised $70,000 .50/$1. (No information received yet 3/24)
  • $1000, God's Superheroes, Lutheran Chorale (May 15)
  • $1600 Silent Auction Beautiful Savior Lutheran School, .50/$1 (March 5, no information received as of this date 3/24)
  • $380, Messiah Lenten Suppers to benefit North Lutheran High School and Messiah Lutheran School, will come from operational Funds. approved
  • Pig Roast, July 30 1-5 pm, Faith, Longmont, Becky Nichols in charge.
  • Coordinators Training, April 2 from 8:30-12:00 at Eternal Savior Lutheran Church, Meals have been arranged. Becky needs to be in church by 7:45 to set up coffee and tables. $200 will be presented to each congregation who has coordinators represented, This is to be used for Social Ministry, or Pastors fund.

    • 11:15-12:00 Care in Community -Pat Goecke, Chapter leaders report on how to use forms etc. Join Hands Day-Kevin.
    • 12:00 Closing, Lunch.
