Ed Allen called the meeting to order
New chapter members since last meeting (04/14/05-05/10/05) were approved - 32 new chapter members
Reviewed & corrected minutes from April meeting. Corrected to add Beautiful Savior PTL approval [April's online minutes reflect this correction]. Terri will update. Approved minutes as corrected
Reviewed & approved financial report - Linda Thompson
    Approved $25 expense for Chapter Letterhead

REPORTS
Congregational Coordinator Report - Arlene Skaggs

  • 2 Churches have only 2 congregational coordinators; Arlene is in touch with these folks. Divine Savior and Our Savior are the two congregations

Election - Mark Moore

  • In the fall we will have openings for all Chapter Board positions. Linda Thompson and Terri Miller will not serve next year. The remainder of the Board that attended this meeting has agreed to serve again next year. Ed Allen would like another position rather than President.
    We discussed where to hold the elections. We thought the same places we had them last year would be good more discussion will follow on this.

Other

  • Join Hands Day [Twin Peaks approved activity] has been moved to June 4th. Kevin Hischke will report
  • Pig Roast [July 31] is still a work in progress – last year we spent a total of $1,737.32

Operating Funds expenses - Locally Supported Activities

  • $352 Entertainment bks gifted to coordinators at 4/2 training - it was approved to reimburse OPAFC from operating funds
  • $50.00 confirmation recognitions: 9 churches - Risen Savior reported

New Business/Requests ($7230 uncommitted program funds as of 5/11/05)
Approved

  • $1000 - Bricks for Tijuana (5/22) - Messiah youth for Lutheran Border Concerns: approved to match dollar for dollar
  • $1625 - Erik Hansen Spaghetti Supper (6/4) - Bethlehem: approved to match dollar for dollar - if we have any Join Hands Days Funds left we will put them towards this event
  • Up to $500 - Friends of Good Shepherd Golf Tournament (6/13) - multiple chapters

  • $1000 American Cancer Society Relay for Life (6/17) [6/10] Beyer Team (Bethlehem)
  • $800 (2/1) - 4th annual co-ed Softball Tournament (9/10) - North LHS (multiple chapters)
  • $1000 (2/1) - Student Dreams Banquet (9/29) North LHS (multiple chapters)
  • We approved up to $500 for a locally funded activity for Risen Savior LWML - their Lenten Supper to raise money for the Isletta Mission. Terri will give Linda the person to send the check to and the amount with all the information needed.
  • Discussion was had in regards to Lutheran Family Services and their Foster Parent program. We have decided to put some information about LFS in our newsletter encouraging our members to consider this as a servant project.

Next Meeting 6:30PM Thursday June 9 - Eternal Savior Lafayette

  • Linda stated that Eternal Savior is looking into a Thursday night service for the summer. She will keep us posed - perhaps we will meet in Eternal Savior's basement.
  • Becky and Arlene will both be gone for the next meeting
