Opening prayer – Vice-President, Ed Mohrman

Called to order by Ed Mohrman at 6:30 pm.

The minutes for the June meeting were reviewed, amended and approved. Review of new members joining the chapter since June 21, 2007 were reviewed and approved.

Volunteer hours for the month of June include: Mark Moore -5, Bob Mohling – 3, Ed Mohrman - 5, Ed Allen – 7, Nancy Timm – 6, Tom Cree -10.

The financial reports were reviewed. Outstanding program funds to date are $14,922. A motion to accept was mad by Ed Mohrman, seconded by Tom Cree and passed unanimously.

Congregational Service Team Director reviewed the openings at chapter congregations. One congregation is transferring to the Flat Irons Chapter. One congregation is a mission congregation with limited Thrivent membership. The others congregations are being worked on to bring their coordinators up to 3.

The Chapter Leadership Board confirmed the e-mail approval of supporting the 2008 Thrivent Build Project.

Upcoming elections 3 positions are open including President, Assistant Financial Director and Thrivent Builds Coordinator.

Old Business
Mark Moore has been in contact with the Boulder county Conference Evangelism Workshop to clarify the final reporting for their funding request. Becca Sager is reviewing and will be back in touch.

Wheelchair accessibility for Andy Young for $100 was moved by Ed Allen, seconded by Bob Mohling and unanimously approved by the Board.

The Love and Logic project has been completed with a check of $249 from operating funds sent to Messiah Lutheran School.

A motion to approve $1,600 for the Operation Christmas Child project at Christ our Savior Lutheran Church was made my Ed Allen, seconded by Bob Mohling and passed unanimously. The approval confirms an earlier e-mail vote.

New Business
A motion was made for $800 to match the proceeds for a dinner and presentation regarding bone morrow transplants at Christ our Savior Lutheran Church on September 16, 2007 by Ed Allen and was seconded by Bob Mohling and unanimously approved. A motion to provide $100 seed money from operating funds was made by Bob Mohling, seconded by Ed Allen and passed by the Board. This request was withdrawn on Friday, August 17, 2007 by the submitter, Tom Cree.

A motion was made for $500 to match on a $1 for $1 basis the funds raised in the ”Light the Night” event being held for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by Ed Allen, seconded by Bob Mohling and passed unanimously.

A motion was made for $100 to match on $1 for $1basis to support the Ongoing Ambassadors for Christ Entertainment Book fund Raiser by Ed Mohrman, seconded by Tom Cree and passed unanimously.

The Twin Peaks Chapter 4th Annual Pig Roast was held July 21st from 1 to 4 p.m. There were over 200 in attendance and cost $2,907.

Volunteer recognition check for the Twin Peaks Chapter will be sent to the Community Table in Longmont, CO.

A Thrivent volunteer recognition event will be held September 22nd at the Denver Art Museum. The cost of the bus is too expensive, carpooling may be considered. Ed Mohrman will responsible for the Twin Peaks chapter display for the event.

The next meeting is scheduled for September 20th. With no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
