Opening prayer – President, Mark Moore
Called to order by Mark Moore at 6:30 pm.
Roll Call:
Mark Moore, President
Ed Allen, Financial Director

The minutes for the August meeting were reviewed. A motion approve to approve was made by Ed Allen, seconded by Tom Cree and passed unanimously. Review of new members joining the chapter since August 16, 2007 was tabled until next month.
Volunteer hours for the month of June include: Mark Moore -3, Bob Mohling – 2, Ed Mohrman - 3, Ed Allen – 6, Nancy Timm – 5, Tom Cree -4.
The financial reports were reviewed. Outstanding program funds to date are $14,389. A motion to accept was made by Tom Cree, seconded by Ed Allen and passed unanimously. An article will be placed in the third quarter newsletter regarding available funds.
Congregational Service Team Director reviewed the openings at chapter congregations. One congregation is transferring to the Flat Irons Chapter. One congregation is a mission congregation with limited Thrivent membership. The others congregations are being worked on to bring their coordinators up to 3.
The Chapter Leadership Board discussed the 2008 Thrivent Build Applications. In 2008, the Habitat for Humanity, St. Vrain Valley will not be accepting gift-is-kind as with out past applications and needs a cash commitment to support the application. Nancy Timm made a motion that the Chapter Leadership Board will promote fund raising or cash donation by all the chapters in the Twin Peaks Chapter. The motion did not receive a second and was subsequently tabled.
Jim Heins last official duty as Thrivent Build Coordinator was to contact all member congregations for cash support for the 2008 Thrivent Build application.
The Board felt it best to start working on the cash donations for the 2009
Thrivent Build application.
Upcoming elections 3 positions are open including President, Assistant Financial Director and Thrivent Builds Coordinator.
Old Business
Wheelchair accessibility for Andy Young project was cancelled since the Youngs
are moving from their current home.
The request by Tom Cree and Christ our Savior for the Bone Marrow fund raiser was cancelled as there is no longer a need.
The Operation Christmas Child project was mistakenly input into the system duplicate times. This situation has been corrected.
The reporting of the Light the Night project was reviewed with Tom Cree.
New Business
A request for funds for a hands on project at the Sky Ranch Outdoor Chapel
remodel project was presented. A motion to approval funding on a $1 for $1 basis
up to $1,000 was made by Ed Allen seconded by Tom Cree and passed unanimously.
A request for the CROP walk in Broomfield as a fund raising project was presented. Ed Allen moved to approve funding on a $1 for $1 basis up to $1,600. Motion was seconded by Tom Cree and passed unanimously.
Deidre Farrell, a Financial Associate from the Front Range Group has
scheduled several coffee hours at churches within the Twin Peaks Chapter and was
looking chapter information and involvement to raise congregational awareness.
The dates and congregations are as follows:
October 14th – Faith Lutheran
November 11th – First Lutheran
December 9th – Bethlehem Lutheran
The third quarter newsletter will be sent to Deidre including information on available funding, up-coming elections and the 2007 Thrivent Build project. Pictures of this summer’s 4th Annual Pig Roast can be found online at the chapter’s website.
A Thrivent volunteer recognition event will be held September 22nd at the
Denver Art Museum.
The next meeting is scheduled for October 18th. With no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:00 pm.
