Thrivent Leadership Board Monthly Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by

The minutes for the February meeting were reviewed and approved. Review of new members joining the chapter since February 28, 2008 was reviewed and approved. A draft of the first newsletter was distributed for review.
Volunteer hours since February 28th include:
The financial reports were reviewed. Program funds remaining for 2008 are $8.149. Operating funds are $2,845.63.
Thrivent Builds Update
Bob did a presentation at
Old Business
Bethlehem Lutheran Soup Supper for Taylen Zabel raised additional funds and asked for additional matching and after internet review, no additional funds were allocated. The Odyssey of the Mind project at Alpine Elementary was submitted only a couple days before the function and the request was denied due to timeliness.
Cross of Christ Preschool 3rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Silent Auction for a 1 to 1 match up to $1,600 was confirmed after e-mail approval.
New Business
Funding request:
The Lutheran Chorale for their upcoming “Music of the Reformation” Concert in October for fund raising 1 to 1 match for $1,000 pending clarification on the owners of the seated risers by Tom Cree, seconded by Chris Busch and passed unanimously.
Join Hands Day
Rainbow Trail camp will be contacted for a completion of Join Hands Day Forms or submit funding request for their Memorial Day weekend projects.
Rejoice Lutheran presented a Join Hands Day request to repair of sky lights in their current facility. A motion by Bob Mohling to support their project for $500 was seconded by Chris Busch and passed unanimously, contingent on the receipt of the Join Hands Day form.
A fund raising benefit to support Devi Suess and her medical costs for cancer treatment was reviewed. A motion by Tom Cree to Support the project with a 1 to 1 match up to $2,000 was made, seconded by Chris Busch and passed unanimously.
Friends of Good Shepherd McGregor Golf Tournament was reviewed by the Board. Bob Mohling made a motion for a 1 for 4 match up to $800 for the project; Chris seconded and was passed unanimously.
A fund raising request for
5th Annual Chapter pig roast is scheduled for July 27th from 1-5 pm. The following assignments for the pig roast were made:
Bob M – Steinbaugh Pavillion reservation
Tom- Contact Ed Allen– Entertainment
The next meeting is scheduled for May 29th. With no other business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm.
