Thrivent kicked off the 2008 year with a special training session for Board members and coordinators. The kickoff was held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Fremont on January 19. Training sessions were conducted by Kim Green and Mary Morey of Thrivent on a range of topics to help Board members and coordinators share ideas on how to assist our churches and communities with volunteer projects. Pastor Steve Molin, the "church sign guy" was the keynote speaker. During lunch, Ken Becker from Habitat for Humanity described how Thrivent and Habitat are working together to build low income housing in the area.
