2010 Report
Southeastern SC Chapter had a successful year, by the grace of God.  Our churches contributed over $10,000 to community projects and Thrivent supplemented approximately $9,000 of that amount.  We provided funds for projects such as the Lions Club, Gideon Bibles, Family Promise, Deep Well and Lutheran World Relief.  It is such a blessing to be able to assist in these projects and others.  Over 1000 volunteer hours helped to make it happen.  With your support, we look forward to another great year!  A special thank you to our retiring board members, John Young, Records Director and Jewel Graner, Communications Director, for their two years of service.

Welcome Lamb of God Lutheran Church
We are happy to welcome the Lamb of God Lutheran Church to our district.  We look forward to working with Pastor Ted Crandall and his congregation in the year ahead.

Thrivent Choice Dollars
The Thrivent Choice program offers two ways members can recommend where to direct a portion of Thrivent Financial's charitable outreach funds.

1. Voting Events: All members (age 16 and older) can vote to help direct a portion of Thrivent Financial's charitable funds among a short list of national charities one to two times per year.

2. Choice Dollars: Eligible benefit members can help direct funds all year long to thousands of Lutheran nonprofit organizations like schools, camps, colleges – or even to their Lutheran congregations. Benefit members age 16 or older are eligible to participate in Choice Dollars if they:

Hold a Thrivent Financial volunteer leadership position; or
Have $800 or more in annual premiums of qualifying insurance products; or
Have $20,000 or more in contract value of qualifying products.
Member eligibility under current eligibility requirements is determined monthly, and these eligibility requirements are re-evaluated on an annual basis.
Participation is simple and easy, without any complicated forms to complete. You'll be able to vote or direct Choice Dollars in a way that's convenient for you. Visit www.thrivent.com/thriventchoice or call 800-THRIVENT (800-847-4836) and say “Thrivent Choice” for more information.

Congregational Advocates
Our Congregational Advocate program is just getting off the ground and we are excited about it's prospects!  Joni Moritz (see above for contact information) is directing this program in our district and will be providing training for each congregational advocate in the months ahead.  Each congregations advocate will be the liason between Thrivent and his or her local church. Currently, the following have accepted the position:  John Young at Lord of Life, Neil Weingarth at Island Lutheran and Denise Bishop at St. John's.  We are looking for volunteers from Christ Lutheran and Lamb of God. It is hoped that we will eventually have several Congregational Advocates from each of our member churches.
