| Activities Conducted by Neuse River Chapter in 2011 |
Eleven Fundraising and Hands-On Activities were conducted by member churches during 2011. Chapters of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are organized geographically and bring together members to help others and help their community. Through the Care Abounds in Communities program, Thrivent Financial provides funding to members like you who form community service teams to conduct fundraising activities and/or hands-on service activities to help individuals, families and qualified not-for-profit organizations. Contact a member of our chapter leadership board as noted in this newsletter for assistance in getting started. Food Collection for the Havelock-Cherry Point Food Pantry- $535 Crop Walk- $1786 Baby Bottle Campaign-$1171 Salvation Army Christmas Stocking Stuffer-$1036 School, Health and Baby Kits for Lutheran World Relief- $512 Salvation Army Christmas Food Packages- $4352 Operation Christmas Child Pack-A-Box- $500 Fund Raiser for Eastern Pregnancy Information Center-$812 Micah's Backpack- $500 Rock-A-Thon for the Blind Center in Washington- $7765 Walk-With-Me for Easter Seals- $725 All Thrivent funds were used in 2011. Gaston Lake Chapter had extra funds and the Neuse Chapter was able to receive some of these to further aid our causes. All activities were partially or fully funded by Thrivent. This is the time of year to be thinking about projects for your own group. Please let any Board Member know if you have a project that needs funds! All submissions will be considered.
