| Thivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity House Nearly Complete |
Our very own Central Blue Ridge Thrivent Chapter is a partner with the Asheville Area Habitat affiliate, building a Thrivent Builds home in the Enka Hills subdivision. Nativity, Emmanuel, Abiding Savior and St. Mark's Lutheran are the sponsoring congregations for this build, but all Lutherans in the chapter are encouraged to participate. The build began April 21 with a wall-raising ceremony. Many hours of labor have been given over the past several weeks.
Our chapter extends a heart-felt thank you to all of the volunteers who have given of their time, labor, or monetary donations to make this build a success. This is truly a life changing event for a family.

Looking for some family fun this summer? Thrivent Night at the Asheville Tourists is August 28th, which is a Friday night. The game starts at 7 pm. As a special thank you to our families, we are offering free tickets for Thrivent members and their immediate family. Also free "Tourist Bucks" are available for all who bring a can of food or toiletries to support local food banks in the Asheville and Hendersonville areas. A brilliant fireworks display will follow after the game, so join us for lots of fun! | Thrivent Financial Benefit Music Festival |
Peter Mayer, the lead guitarist for Jimmy Buffet, will headline a concert on Saturday, September 19th, at Asheville Christian Academy in Swannanoa. Peter is a Lutheran, originally from St. Louis, but raised in India by his missionary parents. You can learn more about this dynamic musician by visiting his website: www.petermayer.com.
The concert will also feature groups from area Lutheran churches. Profits will benefit Thrivent Builds and the next Lutheran-sponsored Habitat house. Youth groups will be invited to raise money for their causes by selling drinks, snacks and other items.

Are you aware that as a member of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans, financial gifts you make to a Lutheran organization might be able to be supplemented by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans?
Through Thrivent Financial's GivingPlus® program, members can donate financial gifts to two different Lutheran organizations enrolled in the program each year, and Thrivent Financial will contribute $1 for every $2, up to $300 per year for each organization.
