Is someone in your community suffering from health problems and major medical expenses? Is there a neighbor in need who could use clothing, furniture or home repairs? Do you know of a camp that could benefit from new equipment? Thrivent Financial for Lutherans makes it easy for members and other Lutherans to make a difference through their local Thrivent Financial chapter. Chapters are organized geographically and bring members together to volunteer for causes in their community and in support of their congregations.
As a member of the Iredell/Davie County Chapter, you can help meet needs through Care Abounds in Communities(TM). Through this chapter care program, Thrivent Financial provides funding for members volunteering in community service teams to conduct fund-raising activities (including appeals/collections) and /or hands-on service activities. These activities benefit individuals, families, Lutheran schools and/or qualified not-for-profit organizations (other than congregations, which benefit from the Care in Congregations(TM) program.
To get started, simply:
Form a community service team including Thrivent Financial members(benefit, associate and/or youth members) from six or more different households along with others interested in making a difference.
Decide what need you want to meet and what type of activity you want to organize.
Contact your chapter leadership board to request funding. Board members are:
