02/17/2012 Have a Heart for Manna House Dinner Dance at LOL $40/person Debbie Phillips 912-266-2157 or Laura Kipp 912-638-6480 lm.kipp@gmail.com ++++++++++++++++++ Thrivent: Golden Isles Chapter, GA, Minutes 4th quarter meeting, 10/11/11 At Frederica House Restaurant, St. Simons Island, GA, 6:00 p.m. Attending: Rich and Melanie Reiter, Mike Hidek, Jack and Sue Gathright, Jerry Edwards, Sonja Kinard, Don and Virginia Herrman, Janice Kirkendall, Fred, Judy and Maura Fergus, Jan Bevan, Charlotte Petty, and Sharon Bartkovich, who offered the opening prayer before dinner. Rich Reiter called the meeting to order 7:35 p.m. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Newly assigned chapter members were approved. Financial Director Jack Gathright reported our
chapter has received operating funds of $1713.00 so far, out of $2500.00 provided for the current year. End of September bank balance is $1426.00, which does not include reimbursement for soon-to-be-reported projects: “Shop on Thrivent’s dime,” and supplies for Seafarer’s Center. Additional “Care Abounds in Communities’ projects: Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets by both Lord of Life and St James’ Thrivent member churches will be completed and entered within required time limits. Operating funds for awareness expenses have been for baptismal medallions for both churches, and needs for Bible Schools- and will be paid for food for LOL’s “Have a Heart for Manna House” dinner dance on 02/17/’12. V.P.Laura Kipp’s slate of officers was presented by Rich, and voted on with the following elected to take office beginning January 1, 2012. The Thrivent Choice program is a charitable grant program and a benefit of membership that encourages members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to recommend where Thrivent Financial distributes a portion of its charitable funding to causes important to them including their own congregation. President: Rich Reiter; VP: Virginia Lensch; Financial Dir: Jack Gathright; Records Dir: Don Herrman; Communications Dir: Mike and Kathy Hidek; Director of Congregational Advocates: Jan Bevan and Laura Kipp. Meeting adjourned at 8:20 p.m. and closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
