Congregational Advocate Recruiting Message Volunteer to be a Church Advocate IMAGINE what a difference you can make! We need you (yes, YOU!) Imagine yourself as an advocate for both Thrivent Financial and your congregation to identify Thrivent Financial programs and services that will help your congregation achieve its mission and goals, resulting in a positive impact on your congregation and community. Imagine you have the primary responsibility of connecting with Thrivent Financial members, congregational leadership and congregational members to understand their needs, while partnering with Thrivent Financial representatives and chapter leadership to identify and execute charitable, educational and social solutions to meet those needs.
Congregational advocates do just that! The time to get involved is NOW! Our chapter has many congregational advocate opportunities available. The only requirements are: being a Thrivent Financial member; a desire to help people; a passion for your congregation and Thrivent Financial and approximately five hours of volunteer time per month.
We very much need you! Help us take full advantage of this unique opportunity to significantly impact your congregation. Contact your Director of Congregational Advocates (Fred Holdsworth, 252-903-1264) today to find out more.
If serving as a congregational advocate does not work for you but you'd like to be involved or volunteer in some capacity, there are many other volunteer opportunities, both short-term and longer-term available as well. Please contact any chapter leader and we'll describe how you can make a difference through the Thrivent Financial chapter system in a way that fits into your schedule.

The Thrivent Choice program offers two ways members can recommend where to direct a portion of Thrivent Financial's charitable outreach funds. 1. Voting Events: All members (age 16 and older) can vote to help direct a portion of Thrivent Financial's charitable funds among a short list of national charities one to two times per year.
2. Choice Dollars: Eligible benefit members can help direct funds all year long to thousands of Lutheran nonprofit organizations like schools, camps, colleges – or even to their Lutheran congregations. Benefit members age 16 or older are eligible to participate in Choice Dollars if they:
Hold a Thrivent Financial volunteer leadership position; (Congragation Advocate) or Have $800 or more in annual premiums of qualifying insurance products; or Have $20,000 or more in contract value of qualifying products. Member eligibility under current eligibility requirements is determined monthly, and these eligibility requirements are re-evaluated on an annual basis. Participation is simple and easy, without any complicated forms to complete. You'll be able to vote or direct Choice Dollars in a way that's convenient for you. Visit www.thrivent.com/thriventchoice or call 800-THRIVENT (800-847-4836) and say “Thrivent Choice” for more information.
