As a membership organization, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is unique to the financial services world in many ways. Our members choose who will represent them on the national board of directors governing the organization as well as choose their local chapter leadership board.

The election process is a very important way for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to demonstrate two required elements of a fraternal benefit society:

1. An active, viable chapter system that involves many members
2. A representative form of government.

Without this election process, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans would not qualify as a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society and would not be able to provide the benefits to needy individuals, congregations and communities that it does today.

Please exercise your right to vote in your West Augusta Chapter's leadership board election.

Elections will be held at Christ the King Lutheran Church on November 13th, 2011 from 9 AM til 12:30 PM.

National Board of Directors Election

You're a member with a voice. Let's hear it.

This year, we are conducting the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans National Board of Directors election through mail and email. If you are a benefit member (generally the insured or annuitant on an insurance or annuity contract issued by Thrivent Financial, or premerger AAL or LB), you are eligible to vote and will receive election information. The opportunity to elect your Board of Directors is a benefit of your membership in our fraternal benefit society. Watch your mail or email in October for election materials.

If you get an annual Social Security statement in the mail, do you open it? This workshop offers basic information about Social Security from the viewpoint of your individual statement. See where potential Social Security benefits fit in your overall retirement income picture.

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 15th for a seminar sponsored by Thrivent on Social Security. It will be held at Advent Lutheran Church 3232 Washington Rd, Augusta.
