| Let's Salute Our New Officers! |
Elections were held Sunday, September 16 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church. We'd like to give a big "Thank you!" to Greg Bickhart and his co-workers from Thrivent who presented "How to Thrive in Retirement". It was a fact-filled, fun afternoon -- and I'm sure Greg would love to talk to you some more about your retirement! The officer elections went as follows: President – John Ninke Vice President – Penny Tadsen Records Director – Lacy Razor Congregational Service Team Coordinator – Amy Jones Financial Director – Connie Sieg
We still have the Communications Director position to fill, as Peggy VanHoveln will be moving this summer. Please give this position some serious consideration and contact one of our officers if you feel this is something you'd like more information about.
Please continue to keep our officers in your prayers, that the decisions made by our board glorify God and continue our community and church outreach.
What a success this Habitat for Humanity Faith Build has been! All three of our Lutheran churches -- Bethlehem, Redeemer, and St. Matthew -- had participating members join 11 other area churches to build a Habitat home this fall. We'd like to thank everyone in Thrivent who participated, whether you were handing out water bottles, roofing, landscaping the yard, or installing the plumbing. The biggest thanks goes to Katie Stinar, our Thrivent Builds Chapter Specialist, who dedicated the past few months to this project (no small feat). If you'd like more information about future Habitat and Habitat functions, watch our website, www.lutheransonline.com/columbusgachapter.
