From Boston butts to yardsales, this year our members have worked hard to raise funds for their churches and church members!  Pizza coupon sales, German meals, and church dinners were just a few of the activities that helped our youth groups get to National Gatherings, furnished our conference rooms and offices, and bought kitchen appliances.  In 2007 our chapter was able to contribute $3,900 to these causes, which brought the total raised to $11,844 -- a truly amazing amount!  Thanks to all our volunteers who helped with Care in Congregations this year!

Through Care Abounds in Communities®, anyone in our chapter can organize a community service team and help others. It doesn't take a lot of time or a long-term commitment! Contact a member of our chapter leadership board as noted in this newsletter for assistance in getting started.

And you can show you care for your community through Care Abounds in Communities®. Through this program, Thrivent Financial provides funding to support members like you who want to make a difference. Accessing supplemental funds for fundraising efforts or funds to purchase supplies for hands-on service activities is easy through our chapter leadership board. Your first step is to form a community service team — a team of volunteers that conducts an activity to help individuals, families and/or qualified not-for-profit organizations.
