Thank you to all who participated in the election for chapter leaders. The following will serve our chapter during 2009.
PRESIDENT: Jim Gibbons. He was a branch manager for Aid Association for Lutherans. He recently worked as a Capital Campaign consultant for Twin Lakes Retirement community in Burlington. Jim is an active member of Lutheran Church of Reconciliation in Wilmington.
VICE PRESIDENT: Howard Batts. Howard also served as an AAL agent in eastern NC. He is completing two years as the chapter president and decided to take it a little easier. Howard attends LCOR also.
RECORDS DIRECTOR: LuRae Spaulding. LuRae and her husband recently moved to Wilmington from the Chicago area. LuRae was an active congregational coordinator for several years there. She is a member of LCOR.
FINANCIAL DIRECTOR: Barbara Knudsen. Barb has been active with Cape Fear Chapter for several years and is very familiar with Chapter Leader responsibilities. She served as coordinator and was Records Director for several years in our beginning days. We welcome Barb from LCOR.
CONGREGATIONAL SERVICE TEAM DIRECTOR: Barbara Vought. Barbara has been involved in Cape Fear Chapter activities for a number of years. She is beginning her fourth year in this position. With a wealth of experience and expertise, Barbara is a big asset to the board. She is an active member of Kure Memorial Lutheran in Kure Beach.
COMMUNITY SERVICE TEAM DIRECTOR: Barbara Millis. This will be Barbara's second year in this position. She helps organize chapter wide service projects for our chapter. Barbara is a member of Messiah Lutheran in Wilmington.
COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR: Lois Beddard. This will be Lois' fourth year preparing chapter newsletters, maintaining the website, and keeping Thrivent chapter members informed of Chapter activities. Lois is an active member of Saint Peter Lutheran in Southport.
YOUTH DIRECTOR: Emily Clamser. This will be Emily's third year directing the youth in chapter activities. She has organized the annual "Join Hands Day" event which was done at Cape Fear Hospice Center as well as getting the youth to work on the Thrivent Builds Habitat house. Emily is Youth and Family Minister at St. Paul Lutheran in Wilmington.
