| The Church Basement Ladies |
What are those Church Ladies up to now??! Hop on the bus with us Sunday March 25th, 2012 to find out. “A Mighty Fortress Is Our Basement” is the fourth all new musical in The Church Basement Ladies series. It’s 1960 and Beverly gets her first pair of high heels for Confirmation; Pastor announces his impending nuptials; Mrs. Snustad and Mrs. Gilmerson plan a food booth at the County Fair to raise money; and Mrs. Engelson embarks on a spontaneous driving lesson. Through it all these “bulwarks never failing” stand strong in their faith and in their relationships. With more crazy antics, more great new songs, and more lessons reluctantly learned, the Church Basement Ladies are at it again. Sunday March 25th, 2012, we will travel by coach bus to the Plymouth Playhouse. The bus will depart from the JC Penney parking lot at 10:30 A.M. The curtain goes up at 2:00 P.M. Ticket price is $37.00 per person and includes play ticket, bus, and driver tip. Advance reservations and payment are required to reserve your seat. Please use the form below to order your tickets. You need not be a Thrivent member to participate.
Learn how to protect your identity. In 2009, 11.1 million adults were victims of identity theft to the tune of $54 billion. Identity theft is one of the fastest growing crimes in the country, and it takes on many forms, requiring victims to spend time and resources restoring their credit. Join Thrivent Financial Consultant Ken Bittner on Saturday March 24th, 2012 beginning at 10:00 A.M. at Timbers Restaurant, 270 W 3rd Street, Winona to learn the tips and tools for dealing with the growing problem of identity theft. This class is open to the public and is free. Please RSVP to Debbie at 507-454-5373 by March 12th. Your RSVP will assure we have adequate materials on hand for the class.
| National Eagle Center Trip |
You’ve probably seen an eagle soar over the Mississippi River. Sometimes we take them for granted because we see them so often, but have you ever wanted to learn more about them? How much does an eagle weigh? What do they eat? How big is their wingspan? Join us on Saturday April 21st, 2012 as we travel to the National Eagle Center in Wabasha. The National Eagle Center is a world-class interpretive center located on the banks of the Mississippi River. The center is home to five rescued eagles, four bald eagles, and one golden eagle. During a visit to the National Eagle Center you can experience these magnificent creatures up close. We will be carpooling from the JC Penney’s parking lot leaving at 12:45 pm. The center will host a 45 minute live eagle show beginning at 2:00 pm for our group. Following the show you will be able to enjoy the various displays and videos throughout the center. Admission is $6.00 per person. Advance tickets are required to get the discounted rate. Use the order form in this newsletter to reserve your tickets.
