| PICNIC TIME - Sunday, September 21, 2008 |
Food, door prizes, entertainment - all part of the events for the all-member family picnic held jointly by the Owatonna Chapter and Steele County Chapter of the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Location is Dartts Park, Owatonna, MN, 3 - 6 pm.

Voting for 2009 chapter board members will also take place at the picnic.
| THRIVENT BUILDS IN OWATONNA |
The Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity partnership is progressing well with the home under construction for the Trish Schlinger family. Even though build schedules have had numerous changes/updates, the home dedication is scheduled for Saturday, September 13, 10 a.m. And a completion date is hoped for October 1st!

| SUPPLEMENTAL $$$$ PROVIDING A HELPING HAND |
The supplemental dollars provided by the Care Abounds in Communities program for the Owatonna Chapter have thus far assisted 3 individual benefits, Steele County Food Shelf, Owatonna Young Life, Rice Lake Church Restoration & Preservation, Owatonna Izaak Walton League, CONTACT Helpline, Steele County Historical Society and Exchange Club Center - Child Abuse Center.
Other pending projects to receive dollars include: CulturFest 2008, Children's Remedial Fund and Steele County Clothesline.
By year end our chapter will have distributed $22,255 toward community needs!
