Exciting Chapter Projects Completed!
Following is a list of just a few of the projects funded by the Care Abounds in Communities™  program in the Hudson Valley NY Chapter.   Consider putting together a team of people who will organize and carry out a project in your community.  Grants of $800 are awarded to qualifying groups.  Contact one of the Chapter leaders listed at the end of this newsletter if you are interested!!


A sample of 2004 completed projects:


1. Italian Take-Out Dinner Fundraiser to benefit the Highland Lake Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary.


2. Fundraiser for scholarships to “Celebrating the Journey” Young Women’s Retreat


3. Fundraising Luncheon to benefit the Atlantic District Mission Society.


4. Stocking the Shelves work project to benefit the Interfaith Council Food Pantry in Liberty.


5. Chili dinner to benefit Pine Ridge Oglala Lakota Reservation through Helping Hands of Wounded Knee


6. Rally Round the Rock - An outdoor community Block Party held at Redeemer, Kingston, to give the neighborhood and the neighboring churches knowledge of the community services.


7. March of Champions Drum Corps Show to benefit the Children's Home of Kingston.


8. Yard Sale is to help raise funds for the Early Childhood Integrated Intervention Network in Ulster County.





Use Care Abounds in Communities™ to help others
Through Care Abounds in Communities™, anyone in our chapter can organize a community service team and help others. It doesn't take a lot of time or a long-term commitment! Contact a member of our chapter leadership board as noted in this newsletter for assistance in getting started.

If you're short on time, but want to help others in your community or help meet a need in your church, getting involved with our Thrivent Financial chapter might be the answer for you.
