| Multiply Your Ministry Funds! |
As of September 12, 2005, there were many congregations that had not yet used any of the funds available to them through Thrivent Financial's Care in Congregations® program. If your congregation is not in need of these funds for internal use, please consider using them to benefit others, from your local food bank to victims of Hurricane Katrina. The usual Care in Congregations requirements apply. Remember, any money left over at the end of 2005 is lost; it does NOT carry forward to 2006. Not sure how to access the funds? Please contact your Congregational Service Team Director, Deb Kress, at (845) 246-1026 or email at kress@hvc.rr.com. She's here to help you with your Care in Congregations questions.
Please vote for next year's chapter leadership board. As a membership organization, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is unique to the financial services world in many ways. Our members choose who will represent them on the national board of directors governing the organization as well as choose their local chapter leadership board. The election process is a very important way for Thrivent Financial for Lutherans to demonstrate two required elements of a fraternal benefit society:
1. An active, viable chapter system that involves many members 2. A representative form of government.
Without this election process, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans would not qualify as a tax-exempt fraternal benefit society and would not be able to provide the benefits to needy individuals, congregations and communities that it does today.
Please exercise your right to vote in your Mid-Hudson Valley Chapter's leadership board election!
