Raising Hope a Huge Success
A huge THANK YOU to the service teams in our chapter who worked on a Pie Sale or other activity to raise money for our "Raising Hope Around the World" Care in Regions®  project.  Between fundraising activities and other generous donations, our chapter raised over $3000!!  When added to the amounts raised by other chapters in NY, the overall total raised was over $8000!  The Thrivent challenge grant will be added to that, making the grand total over $15,000 to be split among our three recipients.  If you missed out on getting involved in this project in the fall of 2005, there will be more opportunities in the coming year. Our chapter is committed to the "Raising Hope" project for 2006 and beyond.  Click the "Care in Regions" link on our chapter website (www.lutheransonline.com/hudsonvalleychapter) or contact a chapter leader for more information!

Member Benefits to Enhance Quality of Life
Getting ready for this newsletter I was reminded that Thrivent reaches out to help communities and members in all kinds of ways. Sometimes we may forget that in addition to the many ways Thrivent is reaching out to help communities, there are many ways Thrivent reaches out to benefit its members individually, too. As a member, you may order complimentary resources and discounted services. Members can view and order benefits from Thrivent Financial's Web site at www.thrivent.com >> Members/Chapters >> Benefits/Services for Members, or call 800-372-8236.

Please Don't Forget!
Whether you are hearing about it for the first time or the 20th, please don't forget! Show you care for your community through the exciting Thrivent Financial program called Care Abounds in Communities®. Through this program, Thrivent Financial provides funding to support members like you who want to make a difference. Accessing supplemental funds for fund-raising efforts or funds to purchase supplies for hands-on service activities is easy through our chapter leadership board. Your first step is to form a community service team—a team of volunteers that conducts an activity to help individuals, families and/or qualified not-for-profit organizations. If this or any other part of the program seems daunting, please contact our chapter leadership board for more information and help! (see names and contacts above)
