Care Abounds in Communities is a program through which Thrivent Financial members come together to help their communities and individuals in need.
Care Abounds in Communities dollars can be used to add to the funds raised at an activity or to purchase materials for service projects, while energizing other members and volunteers to provide help that otherwise would not be available.
Here are some examples of extra financial help provided by Thrivent Financial to add to the fundraising efforts of Thrivent members through their churches and charities.
Giving back makes an important impact in people's lives. Last year alone, Thrivent Financial provided more than $100 million to help congregations, communities and individuals in need. Members who own Thrivent Financial products help make this support possible.
Thrivent Choice lets you recommend where some of Thrivent Financial's charitable outreach funds go by directing Choice Dollars and by participating in Voting Events.
Congregational Advocates put their faith into action, help their fellow parishioners and strengthen their congregations by connecting them with Thrivent resources! Our chapter has several congregational advocate opportunities available. The only requirements are: being a Thrivent Financial member; a desire to help people; a passion for your congregation and Thrivent Financial and approximately five hours of volunteer time per month.
Consider being an Advocate for your congregation!

For the seventh straight year, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is committing millions to stabilize, strengthen and secure communities in 2012 by creating affordable housing in partnership with low-income families through its unique partnership called Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity.
Habitat for Humanity’s relationship with Thrivent Financial brings the financial, volunteer and advocacy resources of Thrivent Financial together with the affordable housing construction leadership of hundreds of local Habitat for Humanity affiliates. To date, more than 480,000 volunteers have donated more than three million hours to construct 1,600 homes.
There have been several homes built in Burlington County in Beverly, Bordentown, Burlington, Mt. Holly, Pemberton and Cinnaminson! Watch for news about the next local build and volunteering!!
