Dear members and friends
of Faith,
In 1956, Faith Lutheran
Church purchased four and one-half acres at 171 Eastmont Avenue in East Wenatchee,
WA, and built a church. September 17, 2006, we are celebrating 50
years of ministry at the same location.
Due to the growth of our
community and congregation, we need to increase the size of our present
building. We also need to make it
handicapped accessible. We want to
become more visible and welcoming by adding:
+ a SANCTUARY and PAVED PARKING LOT.
+ a KITCHEN, FELLOWSHIP HALL and BATHROOMS on the main
Faith currently offers
meeting space for community groups. Unfortunately, we have
had to cancel or reschedule these groups at times, due to lack of space. Our hope is to also
offer a preschool in the future. By adding 8000 square feet at a cost of
$1.4 million, with God’s help, our ministry will continue to grow.
We are asking all of our
members to become involved in a Sustained Giving Stewardship Emphasis which
includes time, talent and treasures above and beyond what is currently given to
carry us Forward in Faith through our next 50 years.
We seek God’s presence
in worship to open the hearts and minds of those who come so that souls may be
won for Jesus Christ.
“Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain.” Psalm 127:1
Sincerely
in Christ’s name,
Mark Maydole, Campaign Coordinator
Jackie Schloe, Emphasis Secretary
The most vital part of the entire
process, and perhaps the most challenging is before us.
Any group of people can put together plans for bricks, mortar, glass and steel; and raise or borrow the money to pay for it. What makes this different is that this "plan" needs to be God's plan. Our challenge is not to raise money; it is raising people. Our foremost goal is not to collect the largest amount of dollars; it is the building of unity.
There are still many questions and concerns to address, and this input and feedback plays a vital role in the ongoing discussions and the "tweaking" of the plans. Your input, understanding and prayers will help to expand the unity that already is a momentous force for doing God's work here at faith.
The challenge before us is not an easy one. Nothing worthwhie is ever easy. This is our opportunity to be part of history. It is not the history of a place or a building. It is the history of God's plan for our lives.
We have the opportunity to provide increased and improved space for the kingdom of God to grow in East Wenatchee. Those who have gone before us have sacrificed tremendously for the building in which we now worship and fellowship – a memorial to their dedication. What great joy it will be for us in turn to give future generations a new and improved space for growing in God’s Word, for fellowship and for reaching out in love to the community around us.
Built on the
foundation of the apostles and prophets with Christ Jesus himself as the
chief cornerstone. In Him the whole building is joined together and rise to
become a hole temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built
together to become a dwelling in which God lives by His Spirit. Ephesians
