There once was a girl from the mid-west,

Who spent her adolescence on a quest.

What should I be? She always wondered

Though in her heart, there was no need to ponder

Her love was for camp since junior high

And Outdoor Ministry was what she would try.

So off to college she went to study

At two different Concordias until she was ready

To graduate from Seward as a DCE

For that was what she thought she should be

In order to work at a camp full time

Using her God-given gifts in their prime.

She used her four summers all through school

To attain knowledge, skill and many-a tool

Cook and counselor were jobs she was given

At LuWiSoMo, LVR, and Lutherhaven.

In 2000 she came to the shores of Lake Erie

And worked for a summer at a camp so cheery.

In 2002, God led her back to this place

As Associate Program Director, all by His grace

This girl, now a woman, has been blessed with the occasion

To serve Western New York by telling of her salvation

To all that walk through our front gates

From this area and so many other states.

She looks forward to serving with you,

Counselors, who really are the summer’s glue

That holds us together as campers delight

In the joy that you share, shining your light

Prepare for an exciting and wonderful summer event

At this place that God has called and you have been sent!
