So I was asked to tell you about myself...In a nutshell, I'm from Canada. Many people say that Canadians say "eh," live in igloos, drive dogsleds, and eat snow cones. Trust me, it's ALL a myth! I grew up in a small town just outside of Edmonton, Alberta (That's about 400 miles north of Montana). I went to Concordia University College of Alberta and obtained my Bachelors of Arts degree, with a music major and education minor. Following my time there, I moved to Cleveland and taught at St. Mark Lutheran School. After that, I came to camp, where I've been since June 2001. This will be my fifth summer on staff, and I'm going into my second year on the full-time staff. Pioneer has played a huge part in my life. With the skills I've learned, people I've met, and friends I've made, I consider myself extremely blessed to be a part of this vital ongoing ministry. I also consider myself blessed to serve with the staff God is bringing to camp this summer. Each person who walks through the gates is a gift of God, and God performs miracles, and transforms lives through these gifts! By the way - in case you were wondering, the one Canadian stereotype that I do fit into is that I LOVE hockey (and the Edmonton Oilers are the best team in the NHL). To e-mail Mike, click here. |
