What is God Calling Us to Do and Be?Tenacious
It’s easy to give up.
I hate to say that, but it is.
Oftentimes, we get inspired by something. Something grasps our hearts and minds, and we think, “This is what I want to do. This is what I want to become. This is the direction I want to take in my life.”
And so we start down that path. We begin making changes to ourselves and the way we do things. And people notice.
Some are happy about the new things we are doing, but there are also those who aren’t so thrilled. They like the “old” us. They like the way we used to operate. They aren’t so gung ho about the new things we are doing and the new directions we are taking. Sometimes, they even try to pull us back to the way we were, and if they are unsuccessful, they walk away from us. Perhaps they are willing to say hi or offer a word or two, but the relationship has definitely changed.
This isn’t a pleasant experience–especially if you value relationships.
But what if you really believe in what you are doing?
What if you sense that God has led you to this new place?
What if everything clicks in your mind about what you are doing?
Dare you keep going even though you are experiencing this pain?
Dare you keep following the prompts of the Holy Spirit?
The path of Christ is not an easy one to follow. Once He grasps our hearts and minds, we begin changing. We begin doing things differently. We begin seeing things differently. Sometimes, relationships get strained or broken because of these changes, and we have a choice.
Do we go back?
Do we press on?
If we believe wholeheartedly that Christ has called us, and if what we are doing is in line with the revelation of Christ found in the Bible, then it behooves us to be tenacious. It behooves us to press on. It behooves us to push through until we reach the place Christ has called us to. Yes, there might be some pain. Yes, there might be some frustration. Yes, some relationships might be strained or broken relationships, but in the end, blessings abound. In the end, unexpected joys await, but we will never experience them if we aren’t tenacious enough to press on.
Be tenacious in your walk with the Lord. Be tenacious in following His will. Know that as you do so, blessings await you.
Peace,
