Youth Group News—Lutheran Inter-parish Youth/Central Mass.
The LIPY (Lutheran Inter-Parish Youth) group schedule for
2009-10 is in the pre-planning stage. There will be a kick-off
meeting to finalize the events that the youth wish to include in the
upcoming year. The meeting will be held at Zion, Worcester on
October 4. All youth are invited to attend and have their opinions
heard. There will be a ‘Get-to-know-everyone’ mixer, pizza, and
games.
The highlight of the year will be the Mission Trip in April, to
Philadelphia.
Bethlehem’s Youth Bible Study program will begin next month. We are planning a six-session study
on how Scripture calls us to act in response to world hunger.
Some details for those who might have questions about our Youth Group: Any young person in grades
7-12 is welcome to take part in Bethlehem’s Youth Group and/or the events sponsored by LIPY. The
only exception is the Mission Trip, where grades 8-12 are invited (we will make exceptions for
‘mature’ 7th-graders). There are no dues to pay, you don’t have to sign-up for a period of time, and you
may attend one event or all of them. There is no pressure to participate or attend any events. But since
the events are so much fun, we’re pretty sure that once you attend one you’ll want to keep going to the
others. If you are interested please talk with any of the youth who are already involved, or see Tom or
Laurie Houston.
Upcoming events:
9/11 - 9/13 : Hammonasset Camping Trip
Any adult who would like to attend any of the youth group events are welcome and encouraged to do so.
