Mission and Outreach is a critical part of Bethlehem. This is a church where you are encouraged to get your hands dirty. This page touches on some of the community outreach that happens at Bethlehem.
Bethlehem is active with the Southbridge Interfaith Hospitality Network. The Mission of the Southbridge Interfaith Hospitality Network is to provide shelter, meals and comprehensive assistance to homeless families and to increase community involvement in direct service and advocacy. Contact Sonya P. or Laurie A. or click on the link below for more info.
Bethlehem is regularly engaged with the Greater Worcester Habitat for Humanity. The duplex on Perry Ave. in Worcester was dedicated in May. Now it's on to the next house!!
We regularly schedule "Bethlehem builds" throughout the year. Stay tuned for an opportunity to help with our next build ... because poverty is not acceptable and we can make a difference by helping to provide decent and affordable housing.
The ASK (Assist Special Kids) program provides council and support for parents of challenged youth. The ASK program at Bethlehem has recently been added to the Massachusetts Parents Advisory Council. Contact Jen H. or click in the links below for more info.
Bethlehem is active in helping to feed those in need. A soup kitchen we work with regularly is Lorraine's Soup Kitchen in Chicopee. Contact Cindy L. or click below for info on how you can get involved.
See the links page for other sites that will help you to become involved with area food pantries and soup kitchens.
Gamblers Anonymous
The Sturbridge Federated Church at Route 131 and Maple
Street (next to the Sturbridge Town Hall) will be holding meetings for Family Gamblers-anon from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on the 1st and 3rd Mondays of every month.
These will be held in the Haynes Chapel at the back of the church. Signs will be posted so you should have no problems finding us. This is a brand new meeting in this area of Massachusetts and Connecticut and is a
much needed group.
If you have had problems with gambling in your home of any kind this is where you need to be. This is where you will get the help you are looking for. Everyone here is accepted no matter what their background. We need you to help us get our "core group" started and you will help yourself in the process. We are still in the process of getting to know each other, so this a perfect time for you to join us.
If you have any questions at all, please feel free to call the Federated Church office at (508) 347-3915.
