Good News Band
On Easter 1991, Our
Saviour Lutheran Church (OSLC) embarked on a new path to expand our ministry by
offering an alternative to the traditional Lutheran Liturgical Worship. With the
love of Christian Contemporary Music, and the desire to share this with the
congregation, the Good News Band (GNB) soon became the nucleus of this Praise
and Worship style service.
Since that modest beginning the GNB continues as Worship Team
Leaders to a regularly growing number of parishioners searching for Christ in a
more relaxed atmosphere. Their mission also includes taking their musical
message to local community organizations in the form of Christian entertainment.
The music for any Sunday is selected from a library that consists of today's Christian artists such as Twila Paris, FFH, Selah, Michael Card, Michael W. Smith, Sandy Patti and others, as well as selections from Praise and Worship song books. The songs are normally selected in coordination with the Lessons and Pastor's Message for the day.
Through the years the members have changed due to moves etc. The group has had the opportunity to grow and mature as members and leaders have shared talents and experiences.
The current members of the GNB are:
- Kevin Shea, guitar,vocal
- Dayna Stark, director, keyboard, vocal
- Corrine Crook, vocal
- Kathy Smith, vocal
- Karen Tisci, vocal
- Roger Williams, vocal
- Matt Fuller, guitar,vocal

Praise Chorus
The Praise Chorus is comprised of members that have a desire to sing but are not able to commit to either the Good News Band or Celebration Choir. The Chorus rehearsals with and joins the GNB for presentations of special music throughout the year. Because of the nature of the Chorus the members vary.
