He served in the military about Jul 1812 in New York.157,158 He enlisted
at Ticonderoga from Crown Point N.Y., in 1812 for 6 months. He became sick and
was sent home and his father came in his place, In 3 weeks time, Elijah the
younger was well and went back to the fort in Champlain. In another 3 weeks,
he was sick again and was sent home and his father came again in his place.
In about another 3 weeks, the father took sick and died. Elijah the younger
was discharged from duty.

"Boatman." He died on 16 Sep 1854.155
