on 26 Aug 1840. Joseph GRIGGS Sr. and Rebeckah "Rebecca" CHAFFEE
were married on 17 Nov 1774 in Ashford, Windham County, CT.68,84 (She may
have been a relative of Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the LDS Church. The IGI
records list her children and husband as Smith's relatives, but they do not list
her husband's parents as such. So the connection may have been through her family
or through her husband's mother's family.) Rebeckah "Rebecca"
CHAFFEE was born on 14 Aug 1749 in Ashford, Windham County, CT.99 (Her surname may have been Chase.) She died after
1797. Joseph GRIGGS Sr. and Rebeckah "Rebecca" CHAFFEE
