St. Salvator Lutheran Church To Hold Anniversary Service
St. Salvator Lutheran Church is celebrating its sesquiceentennial anniversary this year.
Everyone is cordially invited to the first anniversary service on July 12 at 10:00 a.m. Rev John Saleska will be the guest speaker.
A Confirmation Class Reunion (Classes of 1842-1960) will be held and a potluck lunch will be served. The theme of the anniversary is "150 Years of God's Grace".
Prof. Saleska came to Concordia Theological Seminary in 1978 from St. John's College in Winfield, Kansas, where he had served as Residence Counselor, Dean of Students as well as an instructor of Old Testament, New Testament, Psychology, Sociology and Christian Ethics. He had also been a summer school instructor in Psychology at Concordia College, St. Paul, Minnesota. While in the Kansas District, he was a member of that district's Board of youth and served on is Board of Theology. His service at the seminary includes supervising its continuing education program; he was a member of the synod's Commission on Ministerial Health.
Dean Saleska has received degrees from St. Paul's College, Concordia, Missouri and Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. He did his graduate work at Washington University in St. Louis in Psychology and Wichita State University in Guidance and Counseling. He also furthered his studies t Valparaiso and Southwestern College at Winfield.
John Saleska and his wife, Sallie, are parents of four children: Tim, who is pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, Delhi Hills, Ohio; Tom, who is teaching at Lutheran High North, Dettroit, Michigan; Tammy, whose husband, Patrick, is servingas an instructor at Concordia University, Mequon, Wisconsin; and Thad, who is teaching Latin in a Denver high school. They also have ten grandchildren.
Other special services planned are for August 23, Rev. Eldon Winker, speaker; September 6, Rev. Glen Thomas, speaker; and October 11, Dr. Dale A. Meyer, Lutheran Hour speaker. This anniversary year ia a time of reflection and thanksgivingof God's grace to us. Please join us in our celebration.

150th Anniversay Service To Be Held At St. Salvator Lutheran Church
St. Salvator Lutheran Church is celebrating its sesquicentennial anniversary this year. you are cordially invited to join us for our second anniversary service on August 23 at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Eldon Winker will be the guest speaker. A Confirmation Class Reuion (classes of 1960-1992) will be held and a potluck lunch will be served in the Brockschmidt Park. The theme of our anniversary is "150 Years of God's Grace".
Rev. Eldon Winker was born and raised in Belleville, IL. He graduated from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1969. he served as Pastor of St. Salvator, Venedy, from 1969 to 1973 and St. Peter, New Memphis from 1971 -1973. He was an assistant pastor of Redeemer, Mountain Home, Arkansas from 1973-1975; pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, Oakville, Missouri, from 1979-1989; Director of Commission on organizations, LCMS, 1989 until present. He married Judith Beyer on August 19,1967. They are the parents of three children, Carrie lives in Sylva, North Carolina; Kristin and Joyce live at home. One grandson Zachary, lives in Sylva, North Carolina.

Rev. Glen Thomas To Speak At St. Salvator Anniversary Service
St. Salvator Lutheran Church is celebrating its sesquicentennial anniversary this year.
Everyone is cordially invited to join them for their third anniversary service on September 6th at 10:00 a.m.
Rev. Glen Thomas will be the guest speaker. A Sunday School picnic and potluck lunch will be served in the Brockschmidt Park at 12:00 noon. The theme of the anniversary is "150 Years of God's Grace".
Rev. Glen Thomas of Clayton, Missouri was born on September 17, 1956 at Royal Oak, Michigan, the son of Richard and Ilene (Altenburg) Thomas.
He graduated from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis with a Masters in Divinity in 1982, and ordained at Zion Lutheran Church in Mascoutah on May 30, 1982.
He was married to Anne Louise Ripke on August 19, 1978, and they have one son, Nathan David.
Rev. Thomas served as pastorof Zion, Mascoutah from 1982-1989; as an Associate Director of Ministerial Recruitment from 1989-1992; as a Colloquy Advisor from 1989-1992; and is currently Director of Ministerial Recruitment.
He also served as Assistant District Director, "Alive in Christ", Southern Illinois District ffrom 1985 to 1986; L.W.M.L. Zone Counselor, Southern Illinois District, 1985 to 1989; and Board of Christian Education and Youth, Southern Illinois District from 1988 to 1989.
The final anniversary service is scheduled for October 11th with Dr. Dale. A. Meyer, Lutheran Hour Speaker, as guest speaker.
