The church building erected in 1864 - 1865 and dedicated in 1866, has graced the landscape and has stood as a monument to the early settlers in this part of the state of Illinois. In the early years of history the community carried the name of Elkhorn prairie, located in the northwest corner of Washington County. The church building have serve the congregation of St. Salvator Lutheran Church for over 140 years. Updated
