St. Salvator Lutheran ChurchEducation Building FundIn 1986, an Education Building Committee was created, Pastor David Fletcher and Marilyn Going went around the surrounding community churches to investigate how to expand and replace the existing church structures used for Sunday School and Church functions. They envision adding a building struction next to the church with a covered connection between the buildings. The New Building was to replace the old teacherage used for Sunday School purposes. As a result of exploratory findings of the Education Building Committee, a Education Building Fund was start. The purpose of the building was to provide facilities for Sunday School, and a fellowship hall for church events. Over the years, the St. Salvator Christian Parents Organization (CPO) and "THAT'S MY PAN" committee championed the Education Building Fund. The groups made and sold apple pies, hosted Chili and Chicken Soup suppers, and sold kitchen gift items. As of 2010, $78,000 has been raised. A building plan for the Education Building was designed and estimate cost of building was placed at $245,000. The congregation plans to begin contruction of the new building in 2011 on the west side of the church. The parsonage built in 1904 will be torn down to make room the the new structure. The Church Council had undergo a pledge drive to start the fund the new building. The church voters approved of the plans to start contruction in Spring 2011. All contributions to the building will be welcome.
On 1-May-11, there was a ground breaking ceremony in front of the parsonage.
