What We Place our Beliefs in:
The Bible to be the only inspired word of God. That God so loved the world, that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but
have everlasting life. John 3:16 That Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and makes
us righteous before God. Rom. 4:25 That it is by grace that we are saved, through
faith, and that not of ourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any one
should boast. Eph. 2:8-9 That the Holy Spirit brings us to faith in Jesus Christ
and makes us Holy. That God communicates all of the gifts of His grace to us by
His word and Sacraments: Baptism, the Lord's Supper and forgiveness of sins. As
Lutheran Christians we believe Martin Luther’s reform of the church to center on
Jesus Christ and the Bible. In particular, Grace alone, Scripture alone and faith
alone. Grace alone - God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful,
rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the
unlovable and save the ungodly. Scripture alone - The Bible is God's inerrant and
infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus
Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine. Faith alone - By His
suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased
and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and
believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and
gives people forgiveness through Him.
