About Our Pastor
Pastor Dave graduated from Concordia Ann Arbor in the Pre-Seminary program, with a major in Religious Studies in 1995 and Concordia Theological Seminary at Fort Wayne, IN receiving a Masters of Divinity degree in 1999. He majored in Historical Studies, with an emphasis on American Church History. He also holds an Associate of Science in Pre-Engineering from Mott Community College, Flint, MI. Pastor Dave vicared at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, Iowa. Pastor Dave was ordained on June 27, 1999 at Christ Lutheran Church in Goodrich, MI. His first Divine Call was to serve Trinity Lutheran Church, Reliance, SD and Zion Lutheran Church, Presho, SD where he served from 1999 to February 2003. During that time, he served six months as vacancy pastor for Zion Lutheran Church, Chamberlain, SD. Pastor Dave has been serving our congregation, St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Kinde, MI, since February 9, 2003. Pastor Dave served as the vacancy pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Caseville, MI from July 2008 to April 2009. He is married to Tina, an Elementary Education teacher, and they are blessed with two children, Justin and Elizabeth. Tina is a member of the Concordia University Ann Arbor Board of Regents since June 2009. Justin is a student at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor studying physics. Pastor Dave was the director and a coach for the Kinde Youth Softball League. He enjoys working in the Kinde Community by coaching the Independent Bank sponsored youth softball team since 2003. He has taken his team to a First Place Trophy in 2005, 2007, and 2008 and a Second Place Trophy in 2004 and 2006. Other hobbies include stamp-collecting, collecting Indian Artifacts, and playing the electric guitar.
