Descendants of Gottlieb Pergande, Sr.
Our Pergande family
tree has two branches that contain the Pergande name. One branch begins with
Friedrich August Pergande (originally, Pergander), who was born in Kreis Saatzig,
in southern Pommern (Pomerania), Prussia, in 1818. That branch of the Pergande
tree is documented in the "Descendants of Friedrich August Pergande"
report on this Website.
The second Pergande branch begins with Gottlieb Pergande, Sr., who was also born
in Kreis Saatzig, in 1787. One of Gottlieb's descendants emigrated to the U.S.
when his granddaughter Wilhelmine Louisa Wilde arrived in 1862. She married Franz
Friedrich August Pergande in the other branch; so, in 1876 the two branches of
Pergandes came together. This "Descendants of Gottlieb Pergande" report
documents the second branch.
It is possible that Friedrich and Gottlieb were related, and that research is
on-going.
After the first few generations, both trees contain many of the same people.
Our direct Pergande ancestors have a "(*)" following their name.
