Pastor David Matthews

Pastor David Matthews has been the pastor of Apostles Lutheran Church for nine years. He is also the pastor at our sister congregation, Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Verona, PA. He has three Masters Degrees: M.Div. (Master of Divinity) which lead to his ordination, Th.M. (Masters of Theology in Advanced Pastoral Care and Counseling) and M.P.A (Masters in Public Administration).

After Pastor Matthews was ordained his wife, Barbara and he served in a Mission Orphanage in the country of Lebanon in the Middle East. His first parish was in Monroeville, PA. For most of his ministry he was the Director of Pastoral Counseling at the Lutheran Service Society of Western PA and Glade Run Lutheran Social Services (formerly, Lutheran Youth and Family Services)

Pastor Matthews is semi-retired and lives a few months of the year in Florida with his wife.  Pastor Steve Myers serves as Interim Pastor in his absence.
