Free Online Lutheran Bible Study
Welcome to Jay Adams' Free Online Bible Study Website. This site offers Bible studies and Bible study notes from a Lutheran perspective. Some are Devotional Bible studies and others are more detailed and indepth studies. The main focus of all of these Bible Studies is to connect you to Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. When looked at through the eyes of faith, one sees Jesus throughout the Bible.

This Bible Study is a free online Lutheran Bible Study. I have found that online Lutheran Bible Studies are hard to find on the internet. There are many Bible Studies, but few that are from a Lutheran Biblical perspective, that use a conservative approach, which considers the Bible as God's Word. So I humbly offer it, hoping it may be of some benefit and lead people to Christ.

May the Holy Spirit enlighten you in the only Way of salvation, which is Jesus Christ.

The Scriptures bear witness to Jesus, who is the Way.
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (John 14:6 ESV)

"You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life." (John 5:39-40 ESV)

The entire OT Scriptures are written about Jesus.
“…everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” (Luke 24:44b ESV)

And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself. (Luke 24:27 ESV)

Therefore when studying scripture, we always look for Christ crucified.
"For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified." (2 Cor. 2:2)

.

I found a lecture series by Dr. John Kleinig called 'Introduction to the Bible.' It was a course taught over 2 semesters. Next I will be posting notes from his Micah lectures in the 'Understanding the OT' part of this website.

Dr. Kleinig's lectures on the Introduction of the OT will be used as the basis for providing the Big Picture of each of the books of the OT. In the coming months I will be posting these in order to provide the lay person with a framework for reading and understanding each book in the OT.
