We consider our congregation to be a conservative church. Though some consider 'conservative' to be 'exclusive,' 'strict,' 'unwelcoming,' and 'cold,' we hope that they will find that our congregation is no more strict, exclusive and unwelcoming than God is. For us 'conservatism' means that we honor God's Word and his will above human opinions and philosophies. God gave us his Word, because he knew exactly what we needed to hear. We cannot change or improve his eternal message of our human debt of love to him and every human being. God's commitment to us, displayed by the sacrificial love of his Son on the cross, is so sweet that we wouldn't want to dilute it with human opinion. That's what we understand as 'conservative.' To me there is nothing cold or exclusive in that attitude. It actually gives all of our members the desire to be as open and loving as our Savior was, who ate with 'sinners,' 'prostitutes,' and 'tax collectors.' Jesus did not withhold from them the truth, that what they were doing was wrong, and they had to stop. Yet, at the same time, their sins did not keep him from forgiving them, when they kneeled before him and sought his forgiveness. Our congregation is full of 'sinners' who have been lost, but then found. We don't plan on betraying the message of the Gospel (by which we were called to faith). Therefore we stick to the Word of God as it is recorded in the Bible.Included on this page are current Q&As. Answers are posted by seminary professors. They give a good example how our answers are both Biblical and loving. For an explanation of what we believe, click on the blue link "This We Believe" toward the bottom of the page.
