Jan. 3,1924 - Preliminary meeting at the home of Mr. & Mrs. E. C. Gramlich 814 Rogers Avenue, at which time an invitation was issued to Dr. Carl Zinnsmeister, Missionary Superintendent, to take charge. Thirty members were present.Jan. 6, 1924 - Meeting held at the home of Mr. & Mrs. William Thalen, in Woodhaven, to make arrangements for holding regular 3p.m. Services in the Firehouse on Seba Avenue.
Feb. 17, 1924 - Meeting of Organizations was held at the Firehouse on Seba Avenue.
Feb. 24, 1924 - Meeting of Incorporation held at the Firehouse. Twenty-six members present. Name was changed from First Protestant Church to St. James Lutheran Church. As trustees the following were elected: Chas. J. Werner Sr., Thomas Gibson, John P. Munford, Chas. F. Woods, Ernest C. Gramlich, William F. Thalen, Chas.Werner Jr., Herbert E. Fox, J. E. Reiss, and Robert Coile.
Feb. 24, 1924 - Installation of Trustees.
April 6, 1924 - First meeting of the Sunday School.
June 15, 1924 - Mr. John H. Wagner takes charge as student Pastor for the summer.
July 17, 1924 - Mr. Walton made Superintendent of the Sunday School.
Sept. 14, 1924 - Ground breaking on present site of Church Three hundred people present. Mr Wagners service as student Minister terminated.
Sept.17, 1924 - St. James received into Lutheran Synod of New York.
Sept. 21, 1924 - The Rev. Knabenschuh in charge as supply minister.
Dec. 1, 1924 - The Rev. Dr. Carl Zinssmeister takes charge as supply minister.
Jan. 28, 1925 - Congregational meeting. New councilmen elected: Delker, Becker, Clark, Walton, and Thomson. A call was ordered sent to Mr. John H. Wagner. Refreshments were served by the Woman’s Auxiliary.
April 12, 1925 - Easter - Our First Communion.
May 17, 1925 - Mr. Conrad C. Henne elected as the architect to design our Church.
May 24, 1925 - First Confirmation Class received.
May 26, 1925 - Mr. Henne’s plans accepted for the construction of our Church.
May 31, 1925 - Penecost First Communion by the Confirmation class.
June 25, 1925 - Mr. Ralph C. Robinson take charge as student minister for the summer.
July 26, 1925 - Contracts for the erection of our Church were awarded to Fraser & Berau. The contracted price was $40,000.00.
Sept. 13, 1925 - Corner Stone Laying, Dr’s. Stutts and Reitz delivered dedications. Large in attendance.
Dec.13, 1925 - The Formal Opening of the basement of St. James Lutheran Church. The Rev. Woodward & Dr. Stutts officiated, and our choir supplied the musical accompaniment.
May 23, 1926 - Pentecost, Confirmation of 18 members. First Service in main auditorium, 315 were present.
June 20, 1926 - Dedication. Dr. Leitzell preached in the morning; and Dr. Hoffman in the afternoon. The Gloria Trumpeters performed at the latter service
