On Sunday, September 13, 2009, the house at 1531 Bos Creek Drive became a home. We had great weather for over 65 people who celebrated all of the volunteers who made this home possible.
In just three months (June through August), many volunteers now know that building a home through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a profound experience.
Some Statistics:
- 390 total volunteers;
- 61% of the volunteers were Lutherans (238 people); and
- 67% of the Lutheran volunteers were Thrivent members (160 people).
Each volunteer was counted as a new person when they came back to volunteer a second Saturday. Therefore, many volunteers enjoyed the experience so much that they returned on a second Saturday build day.
A special THANK YOU to the following churches who sponsored part of a Thrivent Builds day by providing a significant financial commitment, or many volunteers: -Immanuel -Bethlehem -Trinity on Stewart -St Marks -First English -Mt Olive -Zion -Trinity-Stettin -St John in Maine -St Andrews -St Peters & Trinity on 69th -St Peters-Marathon -Good Shepherd -Spirit Of Life
Over 20 Lutheran churches provided members or financial gifts to finish this 2009 Thrivent Builds house.
THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this house a home.
