On Sunday, September 7, 2008, the house at 1601 Bos Creek Drive became a home. We had great weather for over 50 people who celebrated all of the volunteers who made this home possible.
In just three months (June through August), many volunteers now know that building a home through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a profound experience.
Some Statistics:
- 219 of the volunteers were Lutherans;
- 71% of the Lutheran volunteers were Thrivent members;
- 255 days were counted to build this house; and
- 148 different individuals volunteered.
Each volunteer was counted as a new person when they came back to volunteer a second Saturday. Therefore, many volunteers enjoyed the experience so much that they returned on a second Saturday build day.
A special THANK YOU to the following churches who sponsored part of a Thrivent Builds day by providing both a financial commitment, and many volunteers: -Bethlehem -Immanuel -Trinity on Stewart -St Marks -St Andrews -St John in Maine -First English -Pilgrim
Over 20 Lutheran churches provided members or financial gifts to finish this 2008 Thrivent Builds house.
THANK YOU to everyone who helped make this house a home.
