From the first nail in June to the finishing touches in October of 2006, over 300 volunteers now know that building a home through Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity is a profound experience.
Some Statistics:
- 84% of the volunteers were Lutherans.
- 55% of all volunteers were Thrivent members.
- 322 full-day volunteers.
- 108 half-day volunteers.
- $13,330 raised by members in participating Lutheran churches.
- 13 Saturday build days plus other professional trade days.
On Sunday, October 15 the house at 1605 Bos Creek Drive became a home. Over 70 people celebrated this expression of faith. By the end of October we met our 10% Lutheran monetary match to the Thrivent Builds grant. Thanks to East Marathon County Thrivent members for your donations of time and money to the Thrivent Builds house. Now another Wausau family has a great start towards economic independence.
Thank you to everyone who volunteered or donated money for our area’s first Thrivent Builds with Habitat for Humanity home.
